Mae Shi Classics
The Mae Shi's history is prime fodder for "Behind the Music," from their punk rock beginnings, playing their spastic riff-blasts at house parties and handing out mixtapes of random songs, to their rotating cast of members and numerous spin-off and side projects. Here are some classics.

Physical Forms LP
Physical Forms includes guitarist/keyboardist/songwriter Jeff Byron and Marcus Savino from the The Mae Shi, Marty Sataman (Silver Daggers), Kevin Lenhart (Division Day, the Little Ones) and, up front, Regan Farquhar -- the man many of you know as the rapper Busdriver. Even the most hyphenated genre names won’t do their sound justice. Power-chamber-electro-pop-arena-funk, perhaps.
Jeff Byron, avant electro rock specialist, top out-of-the-box thinker. Whenever we get rid of old gear, Jeff is that guy who takes everything home and builds a spaceship.
Co-founder of influential LA band The Mae Shi, Jeff has been described as being a seminal figure in the birth and shaping of the LA contemporary music scene in the mid to late noughties. Nuff said.
Today Jeff writes electro rock anthems and subtle, if slightly zany, light orchestral scores for us.
